With the greatest joy and profound gratitude, we announce the arrival of Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl’s (CCOC) 85th emergency airlift to Israel.

This flight, sponsored by Mrs. Lily Safra and the Edmond J. Safra Foundation in loving memory of CCOC’s beloved Director, Yossie Raichik Z”L , touched down on the tarmac at Ben-Gurion Airport on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2009, just 2 days after the 23rd anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. The 17 children—including twin sisters!— arrived just hours before the State of Israel’s celebration of Independence Day, bringing the total number of children saved to 2,612.

As a result of your dedicated partnership with CCOC, these precious children will now be able to live happy and healthy lives filled with opportunity.

Every life that CCOC saves is a result of the devotion and generosity our wonderful friends have committed by taking these children into their hearts. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for playing an instrumental role in the success of the 85th rescue mission.

We look forward to sharing many more joyous occasions with you in the near future!
